"Unity in Diversity"... Republic day celebration at MTTC by Reshma Ramachandran 26/01/2021
Today India is celebrating 72nd Republic day. Republic day is not less than a festival in India, the whole country regardless of caste, creed and religion beams with joy. On this day, the entire nation is laced in tri-colours to convey the message that India is a country where "unity in diversity" is celebrated.
Republic day celebration at college began with hoisting the tri- colour flag of our nation by our dear Gibi ma'am and continued by talking about the importance of the day. Pledge was delivered by one of our union members. Our college Chairperson also contributed an inspirating speech.
On this occasion, my social science department on behalf of the college, teachers and friends conducted a quiz in connection with the Republic day. After listening to questions, those who knew the answer were asked to raise their hand and by doing so will get the chance to answer the question and hence become the winner. Winners were given a small token of appreciation. Many of my friends enthusiastically participanted in it and it was a great opportunity to mark my presence on this wonderful day by asking them questions for the quiz. The questions were prepared by my classmate Greeshma. The quiz was enlightening as it provided general knowledge.
And I was supposed to be the video capturing person for this day🤩.
Our non teaching staff gave us chocolates and the celebration concluded at 9.30 am. Afterwards our teachers were so busy uploading the final paperworks for NAAC. I and all other students prayed for best outcomes from the NAAC.
It was literally a great day for all of us ....
And as a teacher-to-be I promise to do my duty with sincerity and integrity and respect and celebrate the Diversity in our nation and mould the coming generations to become fruitful for the country.
